On the occasion of International Women’s Day and the month of independence, Narikantha and Star Bangladesh Media jointly organized the Women’s and Independence Award 2026, recognizing successful women and men from various sectors across Bangladesh.

The event was held on Saturday, March 14, at 4:00 PM at the auditorium of Economic Reporters’ Forum, located at Paltan Tower in Dhaka. Organized jointly by Narikantha and Star Bangladesh Media, the program included E-Kroy Presents Women’s and Independence Award 2026, an iftar gathering, and distribution of Eid clothing among underprivileged people. Journalists, lawyers, doctors, businesspersons, film stars, singers, fashion models, and dancers were present.

Among all the awardees, Fariha Akter Lucky, a 4th-year undergraduate student pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Jagannath University, one of the renowned public universities of Bangladesh, drew special attention. She was honoured with the award in recognition of her contribution as a research assistant. Remarkably, she has already published her first research paper in a Scopus-indexed Q1 journal, a significant achievement for an undergraduate student. She received the award from chief guest Justice Md. Zainul Abedin, Justice of the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.

The event was presided over by Khondkar Asifur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Mofassol Sangbadik Society. The chief guest was Justice Md. Zainul Abedin, Justice of the Appellate Division. The keynote speaker was renowned actress Masuka Nasrin Raka, runner-up of Miss Bangladesh 1995.

Other notable attendees included journalists and social leaders from across the country, as well as distinguished women leaders in business, arts, and community services. The presence of lawyers, doctors, businesspersons, film stars, singers, fashion models, and dancers added prominence to the event.
